Mule Deer
Mule Deer

With humongous ears, mule deer are found in the montane life zone in Rocky. They stand about 4 feet tall at the shoulders and a full-grown adult buck can weigh 400 pounds. A mule deer will eat up to 10 pounds of buds, flowers, grass, and tender shoots of green plants a day. Mule deer are only found in North America. They snort when excited, and emit a high-pitched scream when in danger. They use foot stamping to communicate with each other.
